The 9 Books I Loved (or Found Fascinating) in 2024
Consider this a compendium of Aha! moments for the current age.

All but two of these great works were published in 2024. Each one deserves a look-see.
Here’s why:
What It Takes to Heal: Because it reminds us what true healing is, for ourselves, and for the social movements we lead in response to injustice.
Sovereign: Because it’s thought-provoking, and the primary question now is how we claim our individual sovereignty in a world hell-bent on taking it away.
The Win Without Pitching Manifesto: Because it reminds us of the first step of small business success, especially in creative service fields: specialize!
Determined: Because this one will stretch your brain and make you question everything you thought you knew about the existence of free will. So give yourself (and others) a break when we invariably fall short—there are unseen forces at play!
The End of Reality: Because you won’t believe what Mark Zuckerberg, Marc Andreesen, Elon Musk and Peter Thiel are really up to. In the age of Trump, you definitely should!
Nuclear War: Because this is more blood-curdling than anything Stephen King ever wrote. With Trump once again wielding the nuclear football, I’ve never been more terrified by this subject than I am right now. Eye-opening doesn’t even begin to cover it.
Slow Productivity: Because who says you have to run with your hair on fire to be productive? Is it time to say no to burnout and say yes to taking a craftsman’s approach to your work? (Plus, Cal Newport’s ideas are always worth considering.)
Co-Intelligence: Because I needed someone smart and informed to help me think more clearly about the possibilities, hype, and pitfalls of artificial intelligence. Here’s a good place to start.
Meditations for Mortals: Because I’m sick of brutal productivity gimmicks and need compassionate, clear-eyed guidance on how to make time for the things that really matter to us.
